Selflessness

The example of St. George has echoed through the centuries—not simply for the legend, but for the life of courage and selflessness he lived. He stood firm in his faith, spoke truth with conviction, and sacrificed his own comfort for the good of others. As Christians today, we are called to that same kind of bravery—not in battle, but in bold love, sacrificial service, and unshakable faith.
Philippians 2:4 reminds us, “Everyone should look not to his own interests, but rather to the interests of others” (CSV). Greatness in the Kingdom of God is found in serving others with humility, just as Christ Himself did.
Let St. George’s legacy stir us—not to slay dragons, but to slay selfishness, and live with purpose and courage for Christ. Ultimately when we serve others we are the hands and feet of Jesus, let’s always remember the priviledge of that!
